at this informal meeting Mr Wignyo gives his support to PPWB effort in current situation at Mentawai and welcome PPWB to meet him anytime we need it.

Director of Marine Police also told PPWB to feel free to operate in mentawai, his men will look after PPWB members and make sure no ones can say PPWB is illegal to operate in mentawai.

Meeting with Head of Tourism Department

PPWB met Mr James Halliward, Head of West Sumatra Tourism Department on 5th February 2008. Pictured from the left are: Mr James Halliward, Ferry and Adria/ general staff of PPWB.As a follow up to the meeting with the Vice Governor, PPWB met with Mr. James Halliward. This meeting was to discuss and find a WIN-WIN solution for the boat owners and West Sumatra government in Marine Tourism. PPWB received the opportunity to be an official partner of the West Sumatra government in Marine Tourism Development.

PPWB will participate by submitting idea's for consideration to the Government. Once the Government has taken into consideration the true field situation and what is best for Marine Tourism, they will make the regulations for all to follow.

PPWB met Mr Marlis Rahman MSc, Vice Governor of West Sumatra Province at his office on 4th February 2008.

This meeting was held to find a positive solution for the boat charter business in Mentawai. The goal is to find a win win solution without monopoly practices in the Mentawai Islands.

We are a group of Independent boat owners that charter our vessels in the Mentawai Islands. We have a wonderful, working relationship and partnership with the West Sumatra Police Cooperation.

Our mission at PPWB, as a non profit and anti monopoly organization, is to welcome all members and future members as extended family. We want to work together for a WIN-WIN relationship for everyone in the Mentawai Islands and beyond.

Our goal with this WIN-WIN relationship is to continue to develop a plan for Marine Tourism.

These guidelines are overseen and approved by the Indonesian Government and Indonesian Police Department.

This gives the boats in the PPWB a legal right to operate and do business as usual in the Mentawai Islands and Beyond.

PPWB is an organization who respects others rights to do business in a professional and ethical manner, as well as, respect environmental issues.
We strive to do what is best for the Indonesian people and at the same time have a balance for the Tourism.
PPWB welcomes all boats to join our team. Together with the help of the Police Cooperation, we can all have successful businesses in the Mentawai Island. While respecting one another and at the same time helping the Indonesian people have a better quality of life. We urge everyone who has not joined us, to reconsider. Let's put the past behind us and move forward and enjoy the 2008 season. Life is too short to waste time.

Let's move forward together and actually accomplish something positive for everyone.

Welcome to the PPWB Blog.

We are an independent group of boat owners who operate in the Mentawai Islands.

Our mission is to give everyone who steps on one of our incredible boats, an experience they will brag about for the rest of your lives!

We specialize in surfing trips, fishing trips, diving trips, reunion groups or family & friends trips. The surfing season is April through November. The fishing season is all year around. Diving season is November through March.

Of course, if you would like to just cruise the Mentawai Islands with your family, you can book anytime.

Surfer's travel from around the world to the Mentawai Islands. This is some of the best surf in the entire world.
The draw to the Mentawai's is the ability to surf many different spots throughout your 11 day stay on the boat. There is nothing like waking up, checking the surf from your state room or the top deck, seeing that it is PUMPING, throwing your board over the rail and paddling into a huge barrel!

Now is that a good morning or what? Surfer's chose to do this sometimes even before their first cup of coffee, they can't help it! After beating themselves up in the waves and loving every minute, they return to the boat for a great breakfast.

Now this is life for a surfer! Besides surfing until your arms cannot paddle one more wave, there is much more to enjoy in the Mentawai's. Walk the beautiful beaches of the islands.

Enjoy the friendly villagers. Catch your own fish and the cook will prepare it for you at dinner! Snorkel in the blue waters. Boogie board in the surf. Or how about sitting with a cold beer (or many cold beers) watching the most incredible sunsets in the world while the music is cranking on the top deck. Sound good? I bet it does.

Are you caught up in everyday life; paying bills, working 12 hour days, changing diapers, cooking, cleaning and on and on and on? Are you ready for an adventure of a lifetime?

Well, perhaps it is time to get on one of our magnificent boats. Let the crew and surf guide take care of your needs for 11 days.

Nothing to think about except do you want to surf, eat, sleep, read, have a beer or two or do absolutely nothing.
